These 8 components are known as ASTANGAS, that are the fundamental elements of total yoga are broken up into two main phases: 1). Inner yoga or Antaranga
Bahiranga or outside yoga incorporates first five components. • Pratyahara is a stage of obtaining highest control of perceptions.
Antaranga or inner yoga:- Also called Raja yoga, it also contributes towards the accomplishment of their remaining three components, specifically, dharana, dhyana and samadhi. Samadhi is the last phase of supreme stability, in which the person remains unmoved or by any type of bodily and psychological afflictions.
